Wash four apples thoroughly. Remove cores and peel one ring of skin off top. Fill with blueberries or raisins and half teaspoonful of honey to each apple.
Place in a deep pan with 1 cup water. Bake in medium oven for about 30 minutes. Baste apples occasionally with the juice from the pan. Sprinkle with coconut or chopped nuts. Serves four. old-fashioned apple pudding 6 tart apples, 1 lb. seedless or seeded raisins, lb. black walnut meats or other nut meats, 2 level tbsp. honey, 1 cup wheat germ or whole wheat crumbs.
Core and slice apples. Place layer of sliced apples in baking dish. Add layer of raisins. Sprinkle with honey and chopped nut meats. Cover with layer of wheat germ or whole wheat crumbs.
Repeat successively until dish is filled. Have a thin layer of raw sugar or honey on top. Add hot water and fill up to one-quarter height of dish and bake until brown, using medium heat. Serves five. shredded baked apple 6 apples, 3 tbsp. honey, 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut.
Shred apples coarsely. Bake 20 minutes in medium oven. Add honey, and sprinkle with coconut before serving. Serves six.
