Orange meringues

Cooking Time: 3 minutes

you will need for 4 servings:

4 large oranges 2 egg whites

block ice cream 3 oz. sugar

1 Cut a slice from the top of each orange and remove as much of the flesh as possible.

2 Pack back into unbroken orange cases.

3 Top with ice cream.

4 Whisk egg whites until very stiff.

5 Fold in sugar.

6 Pile over ice cream – brown for 3 minutes in a very hot oven (475-500°F.-Gas Mark 8-9).
